Position summary

The Project Manager is the central point of coordination for a portfolio of multiple concurrent generic pharmaceutical projects, each at a different stage. The core of the role is monitoring and tracking: keeping an accurate, up-to-date view of progress, milestones, risks, and next steps across every assigned program.

Day to day, the Project Manager coordinates cross-functional activities for each project across different teams; maintains strong working relationships with external partners and manages their expectations; and summarizes and reports the progress of the full portfolio to the management team clearly, accurately, and on a regular cadence.

Key responsibilities

Monitoring and tracking progress across multiple projects

· Monitor and track the progress of multiple concurrent projects as a portfolio, maintaining one accurate, current view of status, milestones, and next steps for each project.

· Manage main partner accounts and maintain alliance relationship.

· Build and maintain the integrated project plan and timeline for each assigned product.

· Track deliverables, dependencies, critical path, actions, and decisions project by project; follow up with owners on due dates and escalate delays or blockers promptly, before they affect filing or launch dates.

· Track project budgets and forecasts, keep project records, timelines, trackers, and dashboards.

Coordinating cross-functional activities

· Coordinate the day-to-day cross-functional activities for each project across different stages.

· Schedule and run project team meetings for each project: set the agenda, confirm owners and due dates for every action, record decisions, and follow through until actions are closed.

Partner relationships and expectation management

· Serve as the main day-to-day contact for external partners — licensed partners, CROs, CMOs and contract development partners — and maintain professional, constructive working relationships with each partner.

· Set and manage partner expectations clearly from the start: agree scope, deliverables, timelines, quality requirements, and communication cadence against the statement of work and quality agreements and confirm them in writing.

· Communicate changes, delays, or issues to partners early and honestly — and communicate partner risks back to internal stakeholders just as early — so expectations on both sides stay realistic and aligned.

· Coordinate issue resolution with partners, involving Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain as needed, resolving disagreements constructively without compromising compliance or product quality.

Summarizing and reporting progress to management

· Summarize the progress of all assigned projects into clear, concise reports for the management team on a regular cadence, covering status against plan, milestones achieved, upcoming milestones.

· Present portfolio updates to management in meetings.

· Highlight risks, issues, delays, and partner concerns in every report with their impact and mitigation plan.

Required qualifications

· Bachelor's degree or above in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, life sciences, engineering, or a related field.

· 5+ years of project management or product development experience in the pharmaceutical industry, direct experience in generic drug development is preferred.

· Experience monitoring and tracking multiple concurrent projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and working with external partners, CROs / CMOs.

· Strong planning, tracking, risk management, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of keeping projects on schedule and issues visible early.

· Proficiency with project management and tracking tools (for example, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent), dashboards / trackers, and Microsoft Office, including preparing clear status summaries in PowerPoint and Excel.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex, multi-project status into a clear, concise report and present it — with recommendations — to senior management.

· Strong relationship-management and stakeholder-management skills, including setting and managing expectations with external partners and internal functions.

· Understanding of cGMP and pharmaceutical quality systems sufficient to plan compliant work and recognize quality and regulatory risks.

Preferred qualifications

· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management credential.

· Experience with complex generics (for example, complex injectables, inhalation, ophthalmic, topical, or other complex dosage forms) [tailor to portfolio].

· Experience with Paragraph IV programs, first-to-file considerations, and launch planning where patent and exclusivity timelines affect the plan.

· Advanced degree (Master's, Pharm.D., or Ph.D.) in a relevant field, or an MBA.

· Experience with alliance management.

We are proud to offer an attractive salary along with a generous benefits package including employer matched 401(K) program, paid vacation days, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.
